Worship

Our weekly Lord's Day services are led by our minister for the day.
You can see who will be preaching for this Lord's Day services at the left side of this page.

Our services usually last just over an hour and comprise of the singing of hymns, the reading of the Holy Bible, prayer and a sermon. The sermon forms the major part of the service. We invite you to join us in worship of the one true living God, the creator of the heavens and the earth, and all that is in them.

The Lords Supper

The Lord's Supper - (1 Corinthians 11:20), also called "the Lord's table" (10:21), "communion," "cup of blessing" (10:16), and "breaking of bread" (Acts 2:42).

The Supper may only be taken by those who are baptized believers. At the institution of the Lord's Supper, the only ones present were immersed believers. In Acts 2:42, the ones who partook of the "breaking of bread" were those who had previously repented, believed, and received believer's baptism by immersion. And when Paul addressed the Corinthians concerning the Lord's Supper, he was writing to members of a local church.

Briefly stated, the Historic Baptist position on the Lord's Supper is that the prerequisites are repentance, faith, and believer's immersion. The purpose as John Gill states very simply is, "to Shew forth the death of Christ till he come again; to commemorate his sufferings and sacrifice, to represent his body broken, and his blood shed for the sins of his people.

Baptism of believers by immersion and the Lord's supper are ordinances of Christ to be continued until his second coming and that the former is absolutely requisite to the latter, that is to say that those only are to partake of the Lord's supper who upon profession of their faith have been baptised, ie. immersed in water in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
