Welcome to the website of Zion Baptist Chapel. Preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. Teaching the Doctrines of Grace.
What we believe
We believe the Bible to be God's revealed Word to all. We consider it to be infallible and inerrant, and it is our sole rule of faith and practice. As its subordinate standard, the Church recognises the value of 1966 Baptist Affirmation of Faith. Our stand is taken with those who preach that salvation is by grace alone, in Christ alone, through faith alone! These truths are very precious to us, and we seek, with God's help, to "earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints" (Jude verse.3). We believe the Bible to be the final revelation of God to mankind. Our church also recognises the value of the 1646 First London Baptist Confession of Faith, and the 'Doctrines of Grace', sometimes called the five points of Calvinism, as important documents along with others that attempt to refute the many errors that had crept into the church of Christ at the time of their writing and continue to this day. We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, containing all that is necessary for men and women to understand their need for salvation, how that salvation is to be found, and how to live for Him both now and into eternity.
