"Alleluia for the Lord God omnipotent reighneth" Rev. 19:6
Welcome to the website of Zion Baptist Chapel. Protestant, Reformed & Evangelical - Preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. Teaching the Doctrines of Grace.
What we believe
We believe the Bible to be God's revealed Word to all. We consider it to be infallible and inerrant, and it is our sole rule of faith and practice. Our stand is taken with those who preach that salvation is by grace alone, in Christ alone, through faith alone! These truths are very precious to us, and we seek, with God's help, to "earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints" (Jude verse.3). We believe the Bible to be the final revelation of God to mankind. Our church is based upon the 1689 Second London Baptist confession of faith and the 'Doctrines of Grace', sometimes called the five points of Calvinism. We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, containing all that is necessary for men and women to understand their need for salvation, how that salvation is to be found, and how to live for Him both now and into eternity.
Below are some links to the relevant confessions of faith which you are invited to examine for more information.

Reformed Baptist
Being Reformed means something very specific. Biblically, the idea of “reform” revolves around conforming to the standards that God has given, particularly His will regarding eternal salvation, ultimate authority, and worship. The five “solas” or “alones” of the Reformation proclaim salvation solely by the grace of God (Sola Gratia) brought about through faith alone, (Sola Fide) in Jesus Christ alone, (Solo Christo) based on the Scriptures alone, (Sola Scriptura) all to the glory of God alone. (Soli Deo Gloria) . Being Baptists we believe that on confession of faith the bible clearly teaches that believers should be baptised by full emersion in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These mark the destinctives of a reformed baptist church.
